Daisy Chain are looking for a hard working and dedicated individual to join their nursery as an apprentice to support their staff and aid the development of the children.
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
Ensure the safety of the children
Help to prepare and fully set out playrooms and outside areas and tidy after
Help plan, provide and take part in all the children’s activities
Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children
Administer to all needs and requirements of the children
Attend staff meetings and help prepare curriculum
Encourage parental involvement
Administer first aid as required in accordance with agreed policies and procedures
Assist with routine administration and record keeping including children’s observations, assessments and developmental progress reports
Advise manager of any matters requiring attention such as concerns about a child, or equipment needing repair or replacement
Keep all information confidential regarding all aspects of the practice
£3.50 per hour (National Minimum Wage for an Apprentice)
30-40 hours per week
Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (EYE) and/or long term career.
Childcare sessions are held at GHQ Training on Wednesday evenings, 6pm-9pm weekly.
One afternoon session per week at GHQ Training will also be required if the candidate needs Functional Skills.
Due to the nature of the job role, the successful candidate will be required to complete the necessary DBS checks.
Daisy Chain Childcare has been up and running for over 7 years and is open to both Civilian and Naval families.
Above all the successful applicant must be prepared to develop and harness their childcare skills.
The right candidate will have a positive, dedicated and professional attitude to developing a long term career in childcare. Going above and beyond will be second nature to the apprentice. They will be confident and have a natural flare to work with children.
A-C grades in both Maths and English GCSE are preferred however not essential.
The right candidate will also have knowledge in ICT, a GCSE at A-C or a Functional Skill qualification in ICT would be preferred.
