  • We are looking for a dedicated apprentice for Lark Children's Centre Daycare to join their team.

    Daily activities include but are not limited to:

    • Ensure the safety of the children
    • Help to prepare and fully set out playrooms and outside areas and tidy after
    • Help plan, provide and take part in all the children’s activities
    • Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children
    • Administer to all needs and requirements of the children
    • Attend staff meetings and help prepare curriculum
    • Encourage parental involvement
    • Administer first aid as required in accordance with agreed policies and procedures
    • Assist with routine administration and record keeping including children’s observations, assessments and developmental progress reports
    • Advise manager of any matters requiring attention such as concerns about a child, or equipment needing repair or replacement
    • Keep all information confidential regarding all aspects of the practice

    Weekly/Hourly Rate

    £3.70 per hour (National Minimum Wage for Apprentices)

    Working Hours

    Minimum of 30 hours per week

    Future Prospects

    Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship and or a long term career.

    Additional Information

    Due to the nature of the job role, the successful candidate will be required to complete the necessary DBS checks.

    Employer Description

    From the 1st July 2014, Lark Children’s Centre became the lead for Cluster 3. This means we are now linked with Morice Town and Popin Children’s Centres, to provide services for all the families with children aged 0-5 who live within these areas.

    Skills Required

    Above all the successful applicant must be prepared to develop and harness their childcare skills.

    Personal Qualities

    The right candidate will have a positive, dedicated and professional attitude to developing a long term career in childcare. Going above and beyond will be second nature to the apprentice. They will be confident and have a natural flare to work with children.

    Qualifications Required

    A-C grades in both Maths and English GCSE are preferred however not essential.
    The right candidate will also have knowledge in ICT, a GCSE at A-C or a Functional Skill qualification in ICT would be preferred.
