The unit route can be undertaken when a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing has already been achieved and these additional units can be used to progress in the industry.
The qualification is based on the National Occupational Standards for Barbering. It is a job ready qualification which requires learners to demonstrate in the workplace the skills and knowledge required in the Barbering industry. This qualification attests to a high level of occupational competence and the job readiness of the learner.
Cut Hair using basic barbering techniques
Cut facial hair to shape using basic techniques
Dry and finish men’s hair
Create basic outlining and detailing in hair
Working in a barbers with own clients and must already hold an NVQ in Hairdressing Level 2. Candidate is required to supply own barbering tools (details can be obtained from GHQ Training.) Uniform for barbers is black and white only (no denim) and closed in, comfortable shoes.
