  • Furniture Revolution are a small, independent, restoration and improvement outlet for furniture of all shapes and sizes.

    Situated within the Millbridge area of Plymouth, the owner of the company is looking to expand the business following recent growth and demand; and is looking to the assistance of a focused and driven individual who will have the opportunity to become a focal part of that growth.

    The successful applicant will have a willingness to learn and develop and will have a positive working attitude that will be present in day-to-day tasks and in the presence of customers. In addition to building knowledge and skills for a customer service role, the applicant will also gain working experience of furniture restoration and will have a key role in all practical areas of the business.

    Amongst other things, the main tasks of this position will include:

    • Processing, dealing with and liaising with customer enquiries
    • Booking customer and client appointments
    • Organisation of workplace tasks and workshop activities
    • Social networking, social media marketing and general marketing activities
    • Processing payments and financial transactions

    In addition to this the applicant will also have a role within the practical aspects of furniture restoration, and this will include:

    • Learning, gaining and mastering practical and ‘hands-on’ work skills
    • Furniture preparation
    • Furniture painting
    • Assistance with workshop demonstrations
    • Client liaisons/visits (where applicable)

    Working Hours:

    • Minimum 30 hours per week

    Hourly Rate:

    • Minimum £3.90 per hour (National Minimum Apprentice Wage)

    We are professional kitchen and furniture painters based in Plymouth, with a passion for saving beautiful brown furniture from going to landfill.

    We use our own range of Lisse & Belle paint to give older pieces of furniture, kitchen units, and much more a new lease of life.

    Person Specification

    Skills Required:

    • Excellent phone manner
    • Good time management
    • Ability to multi task

    Personal Qualities:

    • The successful applicant will have a willingness to learn and develop and will have a positive working attitude that will be present in day-to-day tasks and in the presence of customers.

    Qualifications Required:

    • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) is desired but not essential as Functional Skills can be worked towards.

    Future Prospects:

    Possibility of a long term career within the company for the suitable candidate.

    Training to be Provided

    • Level 2 Customer Service Apprenticeship
    • Functional Skills in Maths & English if required.
    • The applicant will also gain working experience of furniture restoration
