Willow Childcare Centre is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Level 3 Business Administration Apprentice to join their team as an Assistant Administrator.
The Assistant Administrator will assist the Head of Centre and Business Manager in the effective administration of the Nursery and Out of School Club in accordance with the requirements of Woodford Schools Trust’s policies and procedures, OFSTED National Standards and the standards incorporated within the Bristol Standard quality accreditation scheme.
Alongside daily tasks, as an apprentice the candidate will attend training and complete tasks in order to complete their Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship and will be supported by their Manager with carrying out off-the-job training.
Main Responsibilities will include:
To assist the Business Manager and Administrators as required
To provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact for families
To keep and maintain appropriate records in line with data protection regulations
To maintain excellent customer relations
To deal with enquiries
To collect payments from parents
To order supplies and equipment
To maintain the filing systems
To handle correspondence
To ensure high standards of safety, security and hygiene are maintained
To be responsible for safeguarding children in accordance with SWSCB procedures
To attend meetings and relevant further training, outside work hours if necessary
To maintain confidentiality
Full time – 37 hours per week
£4.15 per hour (National Minimum Wage for an apprentice from 1/4/2020)
Pay will be reviewed according to performance.

Willow Childcare Centre is registered with Ofsted for children from 3 months to 11 years 11 months.
Previous experience in a complex administrative capacity
Previous experience of working with children and families
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Good Literacy, numeracy and computer skills
High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications including Office
Fully conversant with email and use of the internet
An understanding of Health and Safety
Maintenance of electronic childcare management systems
A positive and proactive approach
A high level of interpersonal skills
The ability to remain calm in a busy environment
An interest in children and families
Grade C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths GCSE is desired.
Previous qualification in Business Admin (or a related subject) at Level 2 would be advantageous.
On completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity for full time employment within the company, subject to review.
