The apprentice will undergo an 18-month apprenticeship training programme (plus 3 months for the gateway) at Level 3, during which they will be supported with on and off the job training to assist their development.
On Programme Training
The period of learning, development and continuous assessment is managed by the employer with the support of a GHQ on programme assessor. GHQ will work closely with the employer to plan and deliver support and training appropriately to ensure the requirements of the apprenticeship standard are met. The L3 Business Administrator Diploma will be completed as part of the on-programme training. Assessment Gateway
The end-point assessment takes place at the end of the apprenticeship, after a minimum of 12 month’s on programme learning. The employer and on programme assessor will formally review and sign to confirm that the apprentice has met the minimum requirements within the standard and are ready to move on to the end assessment.
The end-point assessment consists of 3 assessment methods, all pass criteria must be achieved to progress and complete the apprenticeship programme. The 3 assessment methods are;
Knowledge Test – the apprentice undertakes a multi-choice test to last a maximum of 60 minutes and includes 50 questions with four possible answers each. The test will be completed online and should be passed before the apprentice progresses to the interview and presentation.
Portfolio-based Interview – The interview is for 30-45 minutes and scored out of 100. The Portfolio of Learning produced as part of the on-programme learning provides a structure for this conversation. The Portfolio of Learning is submitted to the End-Point Assessor one month prior to the interview.
Project Presentation – The apprentice delivers a presentation to the End-Point Assessor on a project they have completed or a process they have improved. The presentation lasts 10-15 minutes, with a further 10-15 minutes for a Q&A session. The project is completed from month 9 of the apprenticeship and should be completed before the End-Point Assessment is triggered.
The apprenticeship includes Pass and Distinction grades which are applied at the end-point assessment. If any part of the assessment is not sufficient when first submitted there will be opportunity for re submission, or the interview or presentation to be repeated, however multiple assessment opportunities are not expected.
Apprentices will be required to have or to achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to the end-point assessment.
