As a practitioner within a school or college environment, this Level 2 qualification aims to increase the practitioners knowledge and awareness of children and young people’s mental health. This knowledge based qualification will develop your understanding of factors that affect children and young people’s mental health, their mental health concerns and the impacts on their life and how you can support children and young people with mental health concerns.

You will need to complete 5 Mandatory Units as follows to achieve this qualification.

Mandatory Units:

• Understand children and young people’s mental health in context
• Understand factors which may affect children and young people’s mental health
• Understand children and young people’s mental health concerns
• Understand the impact of children and young people’s health concerns
• Understand how to support children and young people with mental health concerns

Minimum age 16 years and working in a school or college.

6 months – 5 sessions plus assignment writing time. Dates to be confirmed on an individual basis with assessor.

• This course can be funded privately for £811 +VAT.
• Funding is available subject to eligibility in Devon.

• Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning

• The course can be delivered in group sessions or on an individual basis face-to-face.
• The course can also be delivered remotely, online, via GoToTraining.
