The apprentice will undergo an 18-month (+3 months for gateway) apprenticeship training programme at Level 3. The Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship is for someone who can take responsibility for managing a team or discrete project. It is applicable to professional team leaders, first line managers and supervisors from all sectors.
Key responsibilities within a Team Leader/Supervisor role include:
Supporting, managing and developing team members
Planning and monitoring workloads and resources
Delivering operational plans
Building relationships internally and externally
Occupations suitable may include:

Professional Body Recognition
Completion of this apprenticeship will lead to eligibility to join the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, as an Associate member to support their professional career development and progression.
On Programme Training
This will consist of; completion and achievement of the ILM L3 Diploma in Management, regular performance reviews between the apprentice, line manager and GHQ on programme assessor, development of a portfolio of evidence and feedback from the line manager, peers and direct reports (including 180/360-degree feedback)
The end-point assessment will test the entire Standard and takes place at the end of the apprenticeship. The employer and on programme assessor will formally review and sign to confirm that the apprentice has met the minimum requirements within the standard and are ready to move on to the end assessment.
The end-point assessment consists of 4 assessment methods, all pass criteria must be achieved to progress and complete the apprenticeship programme.
1. Knowledge Test – the knowledge requirements within the Standard will be tested using a structured series of questions and is likely to be delivered online as a multiple-choice test.
2. Structured Competency Based Interview – An independent assessor will use a series of structured questions to assess the apprentice’s knowledge to ensure all aspects are given coverage.
3. Portfolio of Evidence – An online portfolio of evidence will be produced over the period of the apprenticeship and will provide evidence of the apprentice’s ability to apply and demonstrate team leading and management concepts.
4. Professional Discussion Relating to CPD Activity- the apprentice will provide evidence of any additional learning/CPD undertaken during the apprenticeship. The Independent Assessor will undertake a professional discussion with the apprentice to identify the objective of the activity, and reflect on the outcome and how learning was applied.
The apprenticeship includes Pass, Merit and Distinction grades which are applied at the end-point assessment. If any part of the assessment is not sufficient when first submitted there will be opportunity for resubmission, however multiple assessment opportunities are not expected.
Apprentices will be required to have or to achieve Level 2 English and Maths prior to the end-point assessment.
