A GHQ Traineeship is a valuable way for a person to gain the knowledge, skills and experiences that are required to begin a job and career within their chosen sector. The Trainee will be able to gain an introduction to the working sector through a combination of work experience placement, an introduction to a relevant qualification and learn essential employability skills needed to secure and maintain employment.
You will also work towards achieving Level 1 standard functional skills in Maths and English, providing a substitute to the GCSEs that have not been achieved through prior learning. OR: If you have not already achieved GCSEs at grade C or higher.
You will gain real work experience via a placement, develop job skills and receive work preparation training that will put you in a better position to compete for an apprenticeship or other employment on completion of your traineeship.
The programme can last a minimum of 6 weeks to a maximum of 6 months.
The content will be tailored to your individual career needs, with a focus on developing your English and Maths skills to the required level.
Traineeships are for people aged 16 to 24.
Employers are not required to pay you for taking part in a traineeship but may support you with expenses such as transport and meals.
