GHQ’s Premier Hair Show has been a staple in the local hair scene since it began, and this year is no different; it set the bar for talent this year, with three outstanding hairdressers being crowned as the best of their year.

Held at Holiday Inn Plymouth, hundreds of contestants – all training to various NVQ levels battle it out to produce creative and awe-inspiring looks based on the year’s theme.

Naomi Richards, our event manager at GHQ Training decided on the theme of ‘the Circus’ for this years show because of how expressive it enabled the contestant to be, “it gives them the chance to creative and showcase what they have learnt”.

It was agreed amongst everyone involved that this years contestants were incredibly talented, and it was hard to tell first year work from third years!

However, three winners did have to be chosen!!

The winner of the first years theme – ‘Vintage Circus’ was awarded to Sophie Berry for her wave-inspired piece. Winner of the second years theme – “Circus Punk” went to Bryony Donaldson, and the third years award went to Paige Peacock for her entry into the “Twisted Circus” themed competition.

As well as being a thoroughly enjoyable night, £350 was raised for St. Luke’s Hospice – a successful evening all round!
