We are delighted to announce that GHQ Training Ltd will be sponsoring the Britain’s Ocean City Running Series in 2017.
The partnership will see GHQ sponsor the ‘Schools Challenge’, where students from the local area will complete a 12-week running programme in the lead up to the Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon on Sunday 23rd April.
We have partnered with the Plymouth School Sports Partnership (PSSP) who are organising the programme.
Lance Chatfield, Schools and Community Sports Manager for the PSSP said: “The PSSP are once again pleased to be organising the schools’ element of the half marathon and welcome the sponsorship and on the day support of GHQ Training”.
Pupils will cover a total of 12.1 miles prior to race day. The finale of the challenge takes place on the Plymouth Hoe in front of thousands of spectators, which will see the students and their teachers complete the final mile distance and receive a Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon medal.
David Williams, Commercial Director, Event West Limited said: “We are delighted that GHQ Training have decided to sponsor the running series, including the schools’ challenge event at the Britain’s Ocean City Half Marathon in April. Over 50 schools in the local area have entered and 2500 pupils will receive their very own medal after completing the 12-week programme, running 1 mile a week in the lead up to race day.”
Helen Hart, Commercial Manager, GHQ Training said: “Over the past 25 years GHQ has enjoyed working closely with many of the Plymouth schools, either by supplying and training their apprentices or by providing advice and guidance to students on their career options and opportunities.
We are therefore extremely pleased to be able to sponsor this year’s Schools Challenge as part of our 25th year celebrations and we look forward to continuing our association with the school’s and their students over the next 25 years.”
