Course: Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services

Duration: 12 months

Attendance: Monday and Wednesday's 9.30-4pm

Cost: Private Funding at £3,099.60 (inc VAT)

Funding: Advanced Learner Loan (you may be eligible for a childcare bursary to cover your childcare costs on the day of your training) or Private Funding (no childcare funding)

 

Overview

This Level 3 course is ideal if you’ve worked in a salon or similar job for some time, or have gained your Level 2 Beauty Therapy/Nail Services qualification. You may be a senior member of staff or you may want to become a mobile nail technician.

Requirements

There are no formal prerequisite qualifications that you must have prior to undertaking this qualification.

It is advisable to have completed a level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology or equivalent.

The uniform for nails at GHQ is black and white only (no denim) and ‘closed-in’ comfortable shoes. A GHQ T-shirt will be discussed with you.

  • Learners will be supported to source models when required

  • Learners will need to complete homework

  • Products and resources will be provided for use in sessions

  • Learners will be supported with work experience and career opportunities

GHQ will provide learners with a mini kit. A suggested kit list will be provided for learners should they wish to make additional purchases to enhance their skills and progression.

Funding

  • £3,099.60 inc VAT. Advanced Learner Loans (Student Finance) are available to fund this course which allows you to borrow the money to cover the costs of the course and pay it back a bit at a time when you are earning more than £25,000 a year. Subject to eligibility.

Mandatory

  • Enhance and maintain nails using UV gel

  • Enhance and maintain nails using liquid and powder

  • Monitor procedures to safely control work operations

    Optional

  • Enhance and maintain nails using wraps

  • Plan and create nail art designs

  • Develop a range of creative nail images

  • Plan and provide airbrush design for nails

  • Prepare and finish nail overlays using electric files

  • Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of promotional activities
