The GHQ annual Spring Nail Competition took place yesterday in our Training Salon.
This competition is a great opportunity for the Level 3 Nail Services Students to get creative and to showcase the skills that they have been developing throughout their course.
All the ladies had to put lots of effort into their designs and had to create a mood board to base their nail art on. The judges based their score on many areas including originality, design, visual interest, balance, presentation, complexity, workmanship, detail and theme.
The winner of the competition was Amanda for her ‘Woodland to Sea’ magical theme, her complex handmade features and well thought out theme won over the judges! The runner up was Candy Rain’s Apprentice, Amelia, for her ‘Maleficent’ themed winged nails. Enjoy your prizes ladies.
Amanda’s ‘Woodland to Sea’ magical theme with an amazing handmade acrylic butterfly made up of the Austism Awareness Puzzle Logo.
Amelia’s ‘Maleficent’ themed winged nails with one light and one dark hand.
Josie’s magical mystical ‘Beauty & the Beast’ themed nails with exact colour matches.
Chloe’s contrasting light and dark nails inspired by one of her favourite Japanese Animations ‘Spirited Away’
Oleisha’s sparkly blue ‘Cinderella’ theme.
Well done to everyone who took part, the judges were very impressed by everyone’s creations this year! If you are inspired by the amazing work by our students and would like to learn how to do this yourself, click here to apply for the next Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services course!
