Overview
The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice is a theoretical qualification intended for those who wish to gain an understanding of the principles and practices of internal quality assurance without any requirement to practice.
Requirements
To begin working towards becoming an internal quality assurer you should be an experienced and qualified assessor for your relevant vocational area and ideally hold
D32/33, A1 or the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA)
You must have GCSE grades A-C or equivalent in English and maths or Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects prior to enrolment on this course
A minimum of 2 years experience as an assessor is essential
Good ICT skills are required for trainers and teachers in modern education

This course is intended for those who maintain the quality of assessment for NVQ and/or VRQ qualifications from within an organisation or assessment centre.
The Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance (QA) is aimed at those who want to become qualified in quality assuring the assessment of vocational competence in the workplace. These new QCF qualifications have a greater relevance and flexibility for all those involved in quality assurance and can be mixed and matched to provide a flexible, individual approach to delivery.
