  Vi Spring Dream Team

Pictured left to right, are Steve Wilton, Matt Thompson, Andrew Lancaster, Dan Reed and Lee Wickett all of whom are completing ILM Level 4 Management qualifications.

World famous for luxury beds, Vispring continues to invest in staff training & development, which is essential for future growth .

Having chosen Project Management as an optional unit they researched and individually came up with cost/time saving initiatives which are now being considered for adoption  by Vi Spring.

“This is a great result for Vispring and development of our trainee managers, especially in the current economically challenging times” said Neil Lancaster, Operations Manager,.

A massive well done from GHQ Training !! Looking forward to presenting ILM  Level 4 Qualifications in December !

Welcome to our new team members

Tutor Colette Humphreys presented Farhat Sandu with a Certificate for special effort and excellent standards.

Nabila, Colette and Sophie are delivering Makeup and Beauty Qualifications and will deliver hairdressing in September.  6 learners have just completed Beauty Therapy, and 6 have completed Makeup courses. Congratulations to all.

Farhat was finding the course a struggle as English is her second language, but she rolled up her sleeves and got her family to help her remember the technical terminology by writing out flash cards which constantly popped in front of her at home. It certainly worked for Farhat and she now has completed Level 3 Beauty Therapy.

Farhat has also gained employment in Radiance Salon!

Well done Farhat !!

Welcome to Tracey Bullock who has been supporting our Hairdressing department while completing a Certificate in Education and Training

This support is invaluable, helping learners progress with 1 to 1’s and step-by-step demonstrations.

Welcome to Kim Burns, one of our industry specialists who is also completing a CET at GHQ and now assisting the hairdressing learners on Thursdays. Kim is making quite a stir with her holographic hairdressing skills, which are highly sought after by clients from far and wide.

Kirsty Eastman, also part of GHQ’s CET cohort, and ready to join the hairdressing support team in September.

NVQ Barbering Level 3 learner Dan Drew in action!

Dan started with GHQ Training as a complete beginner. He was immediately excited about changing careers from being a support worker to becoming a barber.

Dan’s confidence improved enormously when he was challenged to attend Job Centre Plus for a pop-up shop. This was set up to help clients gain a makeover to help with their self-esteem when applying for jobs. After this session our Centre Manager Vicki suggested that Dan should apply to become a festival hairdresser and this further boosted his confidence.  He had opportunities for work experience which led to a secure job offer and today has completed this course.

Congratulations Dan!! You’re an absolute credit to GHQ!

“ I thoroughly enjoyed my early years Educator NVQ Level 3 Course.  My tutor, Renata, couldn’t be more supportive, her knowledge and experience were inspirational”.

National Careers service support at our centres

It started in Plymouth with Careers Advisor Norman Blandford meeting GHQ’s learners on site.

Norman is able to arrange 1 to 1’s with anyone needing support with CV writing and career pathways to make that dream job achievable.

The National Careers service is available anywhere in the country. We’ve provided contact details for each of our centres, so all GHQ learners have access to these opportunities.

Child Care

We’re very fortunate to have a SEND specialist at GHQ Training. Renata Chatkevic has already successfully delivered 2 SENCO courses which are very popular with the Early Years community.

The next course starts on 12th September.

This is a self-funded, remotely delivered qualification, enabling access from anywhere in the country.

Our Child care team has now joined forces with Education and Training at GHQ , ensuring that the best Quality is assured for all departments.
