Overview
The Level 3 (NVQ) Diploma in Hairdressing is based on the National Occupational Standards for Hairdressing. It is a job-ready qualification which requires learners to demonstrate in the workplace the skills and knowledge required in the hairdressing industry. This qualification attests to a high level of occupational competence and the job readiness of the learner.
Requirements
The uniform for hairdressers at GHQ is black and white only (no denim) and ‘closed-in’ comfortable shoes.
Learners will be supported to source models when required
Learners will need to complete homework
Products and resources will be provided for use in sessions
Learners will be supported with work experience and career opportunities
A suggested kit list will be provided for learners should they wish to purchase to enhance their skills and progression.
Learners will need to be working on clients and must already hold an NVQ in Hairdressing or barbering Level 2, VRQ 3 hairdressing or appropriate experience.
Cohort Dates & Length of Programme
The duration of this Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing course is 9-18 months (depending on the individual).
1-2 days per week Wednesday and Thursday at GHQ Training plus work experience.

This course can be funded privately: Private Funding at £3345 (plus VAT) may be covered by an Advanced Learner Loan

Units
All mandatory units must be achieved which is 21 credits. Candidates must also complete at least 25 credits from an optional unit group.
Mandatory Units:
Provide hairdressing consultation services (3 credits)
Monitor procedures to safely control work operations (4 credits)
Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques (8 credits)
Promote additional services or products to customers (6 credits)
